Tokyo University Hospital Gets First Mobetron in Japan

[August 2000]  The first Japanese Mobetron was delivered to Toshiba Medical Systems at their radiation therapy manufacturing and test facility in Nasu, Japan. Toshiba is Siemens Medical's and Intraop Medical's partner in Japan for IORT equipment. Toshiba is the largest medical capital equipment manufacturer in Japan and, with their partner Siemens, is a major supplier of conventional radiotherapy equipment to the Japanese market. The Mobetron was delivered to the Toshiba factory in August for training and familiarization of the Toshiba service organization.

Thomas Cook, Intraop Medical's Service Manager, conducted the Mobetron service training and familiarization sessions, first in the United States and then later in Japan. "Toshiba has an outstanding service organization," says Mr. Cook. "We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable group representing our products in Japan." The Mobetron is scheduled for installation at the prestigious Tokyo University Hospital in early 2001.
