Intraop Receives Mobetron Order from Belgium

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (BUSINESS WIRE) May 25, 2006 Intraop Medical Corporation (OTCBB: IOPM) has received an order from Saint Augustinius Hospital, Antwerp, Belgium, for the Company's proprietary Mobetron system. The Mobetron is an FDA-approved, easily transportable electron-beam instrument designed for Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), or the direct application of radiation to a tumor while a patient is undergoing cancer surgery. St. Augustinius will be the first hospital in Belgium to offer IORT, but the eighth treatment center in Europe to use the Mobetron.

"We are pleased to have this prominent Belgian institution join the growing list of Mobetron users in Europe. Based on the interest we are seeing for IORT and the Mobetron, especially for early-stage breast cancer, we believe Europe will continue to be a strong and expanding market for us, converting the demand into revenues for the Company," said Dr. Donald A. Goer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Intraop. "The Mobetron, when integrated into a hospital's cancer program, produces excellent clinical results and can save weeks of conventional external beam radiation, as well as patients' lives. This makes the Mobetron a very important, cost-effective treatment option."

Saint Augustinius intends to use its Mobetron to treat a variety of tumors, including early-stage breast cancer. The Mobetron to be delivered to St. Augustinius was previously rented to Catharina Zeikenhuis in Eindhoven, the Netherlands for interim use while the hospital was constructing a shielded operating room. Catharina treated more than 160 patients with the Mobetron during this time.

Dr. Goer continued: "Our successful remarketing of this Mobetron demonstrates the high resale value of our equipment. The fact that the Mobetron has already been used in the Netherlands saved St. Augustinius four to five weeks of expensive commissioning, allowing its doctors to begin treating patients sooner."
